It has officially been a month since my last post, and oh goodness, so much has happened! I had previously posted on Facebook that our house was in the process of being sold, but about a week after that post, the buyers decided they didn't want our home. Some foundation work needed to be done, and we offered to pay for it, but they still said no. Jeff and I had contemplated renting our home but have since decided to just get the foundation work done and keep it on the market. We are hopeful that someone will buy our home sooner or later. I am thankful that God has granted me peace about not having the house sold before our move to London.
I am thankful that Jeff's parents were kind enough to lend us their spare truck until we move. We sold Jeff's truck in early November and my car early December. I made a trip to Louisiana to spend some time with family (my mom's side) and, to my surprise, my rental car was a Kia Soul! Never thought I'd drive the hamster vehicle. It was fun while it lasted.
Jeff and I are done with work until we move to London. His start date is January 3rd, and mine is tbd. I have been applying for positions now that I have my visa. I am hoping to get something asap. We will see.
We do not have a flat (apartment) waiting for us in London, so Jeff and I will be staying with our friends, Andrea and Mike, until we are able to find one (which will hopefully be soon!). After our trip to London in November, we thought we had a deal sealed on a flat, but the landlord was a bit of a meanie and didn't take the flat off the market. He then caught wind of another offer, a "better" offer than ours, so Jeff and I decided that we didn't want to live under someone who could be so shady. A blessing in disguise is what I like to think. We weren't able to have Monk in this flat, and we, at some point, will be flying him over. I am really hopeful for a pet friendly flat this go around.
Tuesday, my family helped Jeff and I pack and load most of our belongings into the Frost football trailer (thank you Mr. Revill). Huge thanks to both my family and Jeff's family for helping us! It would have taken us way longer without them.
Today is my birthday, and I am 24 years old. In 3 days, it will be Christmas. Next Saturday, I will be moving to London. Time is flying by. I am excited to go, but am now beginning to feel hesitant to leave what I know. This is only temporary, and I am extremely grateful that I get to experience life in another country with Jeff. We are both excited for this adventure. No matter where we are, God is with us.
Merry Christmas!
